Vinyl “Shades of Blue” by Ashkan ONP

The album Shades of Blue is a collection of deep hypnotic techno tracks created by Ashkan ONP. The album showcases the rich soundscapes created through the use of analog synthesizers and modular racks, including the Roland Juno-106 and Pulsar by Soma Engineering. In addition to these electronic instruments, Ashkan incorporates traditional persian instruments such as Tombak, Ney, and Daf, adding a unique multicultural element to the music. The EP consists of four tracks, one of which, titled “Double Moral,” is an analog live set, providing an immersive and spontaneous listening experience.

The album is a synesthetic journey through realms of metallic crystals, minerals, and the quintessential nordic landscape: half-dark blue forests right before dawn, filled with silver mist and silver frost. In the track Oslo Keta, we take these blue-silver hues and turn to the city, an ode to Oslo and generations of urban ravers. What underpins the album is an atmosphere of friendships between warriors that share a vision in the frontlines of consciousness, our common destiny as we collectively remake the best of our talents and efforts into One New Planet.
